Treasure Island Hotel & Casino Resort, Las Vegas. Trip #2 – March 2012.

A Sunken Pirate Ship on a Treasureless Island Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. March 2012.

3300 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas, NV, USA.

A friend of mine found a really good hotel & flight deal for 4 days. I agreed to go. This time we took a direct flight from Toronto Pearson International Airport Terminal 3 flying with WestJet. I brought a couple of books to read for the flight there and back in case i didn’t like what movies that they were showing on the plane.

Arrived in Vegas at night, checked into our hotel at 11:30pm and after we walked across the street from our hotel to this Rock and Roll bar on the strip. 2 Corona’s will cost you $20 before tip, that was our night.

Treasure Island is rated at 4-star hotel but i would rate it a 3-stars Hotel based off my own experience and amenities it has to offer at the time of my stay. Our room was basic accommodation 2 double beds with a couple of electrical outlets missing the covers, where i would charge my cell phone. Some electrical outlets were protruding out from the wall in the washroom.

The next morning we woke up and hit up the local Walgreens stocked up on breakfast foods for my mornings, and some water and bottle of pop of 7/up and bottle of southern comfort for myself to last 4 days until we leave and check-out. Later that afternoon we do our traditional strip walk and decided to walk to the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino Resort to check it out. (If you have not read my 7 DONT of Las Vegas its the same story) The strip north of Treasure Island Hotel is very sketchy the further you go. We encountered a mentally ill one legged man in wheel chair who was deliberant, unstable and swearing at anyone he passed by pushing his wheel chair so far to try and assault an asian tourist taken picture of the Stratosphere tower part of the hotel. We saw LVPD come to the tourist rescue. Stratosphere Hotel is nothing special, Casino floor was a dump and in bad part of town. The draw of this Hotel is a rotating restaurant floor on called “Top of the World” Restaurant the highest level in the tower with views overlooking the Las Vegas strip. They also have a mini rollercoaster that drops off the roof of the hotel and hangs there pulls you back.

Observation Deck at the Eiffel Tower, The Paris Hotel & Casino Resort, Las Vegas.

If you want a nice rooftop restaurant with a view of the Las Vegas strip. I suggest The Eiffel Tower Restaurant atop The Paris Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. Its pricy french food. For dinner we picked a restaurant close by on the strip. There are no formal decent sit down restaurants at Treasure Island At night we went back to Gallery Night club at Planet Hollywood Hotel. My friend liked it last time we went. However this time it was not as good as last time. called it a night.

The next day my friend wanted to do some gamble but im not a gambler so i let him go gamble and i went to check out the Pool at Treasure island. I went mid morning and it was the most boring looking pool set up. A giant slab of rectangular grey concrete with pool chairs surrounding it and these ugly orange striped towels the give out to you once you enter. The pool was dead, one slender beauty go up off the chair to stop me and ask me for the time. i stayed for while and left.

Just like the Mirage Hotel has a Volcano show throughout the day and night. Treasure Island has a pirate show throughout the afternoon and evening. It’s boring and didn’t care for it. They have a cowboy /saloon bar called Gilleys and Mexican bar called Senior Frogs.

Senior Frogs was having their weekly Bikini contest, it was full of people. We stayed until a winner was crowned. Called it a night.

In closing, i would not stay at Treasure Island again. We checked out of our room/ hotel and flew back to Toronto.

THE GOOD= There is no good at this Hotel.

THE BAD= No decent dining restaurant to have a formal sit down dinner dress up at. You have to leave the resort.

THE UGLY= Our room.
