George Springer’s 4th inning home run added to the Blue Jays lead and the win, 4-2. As Washington prayed for their pitcher, Lord who was not able to be their saviour in this game.

The start of the MLB season has begun and Toronto’s Baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays have done some major renovation to transform the old SkyDome Entertainment Facility (Stadium) into a more BallPark inviting style stadium. Having only seen the changes on TV. I finally got a chance to go in person and watch a jays game from the new Club 328 section. Located in the outfield behind right field and the visiting teams bullpen.
Mother nature decided to throw us a major curveball today as a severe whether statement was issued for the Greater Toronto Area about a major Ice storm passing through the area. Cities north of Toronto got the brunt of the storm and lost power. It was not a good day to travel or be outside. I arrived when the national anthems were being played and eventually found me seat.
I was fortunate to find a couple of seats online to choose from in that section. They are secluded seats and its one single row. The only thing behind you is a wall and the only thing in front of you is a new perfectly windex plexiglass and the visiting teams bullpen. There is decent leg room for stadium style seats.

Easton Lucas of the Toronto Blue Jays got his first big league start and win, replacing the injured Max Scherzer in the rotation. George Springer hit his first home run of the season. The Blue Jays opened the scoring in the 1st inning by Gimenez singling to right to bring in Santandar to score, 1-0.

Springers home run added to the lead in the 4th. A sacrifice fly to bring in Guerrero Jr. in the 5th inning. Blue Jays scored again in the 6th inning. The blue light lite up above the Nationals bullpen phone rang as they tried to stop the slow bleeding of runs being scored and send out right handed pitcher, Brad Lord to try to stop the runs from coming in.
It didn’t work, Nationals pitcher Brad Lord only lasted 1 inning before getting the hook and yet anther blue light phone call to the bullpen. Nationals catcher Gonzales was more interested in chatting with one Toronto’s Finest female police officer that was stationed to provide security at Washingtons bullpen entrance. I guess thats why he is not even on the 40 man roster anymore. The other catcher, Rossi actually took some throws from Lord and Ribalta, guys who were entering the game. This time it wast 6′ 7″ 245lb er #67 Ribalta coming into the game and on the mound. The Nationals managed to get one more run in the top of the 9th, but it was not enough to narrow the score. The Blue Jays win on this windy icy stormy afternoon day game, 4-2.
TAKEAWAY:
THE GOOD: The Blue Jays win and George Springer gets is first home run of the season. I liked the seats
THE BAD: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is still home run less. Jays still leaving runners on base. Seats far from home plate.
THE UGLY: Getting to the game during a ice storm.
