(Puck Drops) Sean Monahan and the Columbus Blue Jackets win the face-off against Auston Matthews and gain possession of the puck. Back and forth action as Tavares deflected shot stopped by goaltender Tarasov.

Columbus attacking in leafs zone, defenceman Ivan Provorov recives a behind the back pass from defence partner and skates towards the leafs net, make a deke takes shot, Leafs goalie makes save, rebound, Van Riemsdyk pushes off leafs D Tanev and backhands the loose puck past Hildeby. 1-0 Blue Jackets.
GOAL = BLUE JACKETS: #17 Justin Danforth. (Time: 6:21)
Leafs Defenceman Ekman-Larsen gives the puck away to Columbus’s Werenski who makes a nice saucer pass to Justin Danforth who takes a wrist shot and beats Leafs goaltender which he should of stopped.
GOAL = BLUE JACKETS: #24 Mathieu Olivier. (Time: 12:42)
Leafs forward Domi pinching inside Blue Jackets zone, a quick outlet pass by Danforth to Olivier as he streaks up the ice full tilt creating a 2 on1 and tries to make the goalie commit to a pass but instead he just snap shots it and rips it by Denis Hildeby to make it 3-0 Columbus.

2nd Period Begins:
GOAL- BLUE JACKETS: #23 Sean Monahan. (Time: 5:35)
Blue Jackets break out of their defensive zone by winning the puck over and Werenski makes cross ice pass to open winger Marchenko racing hard up the ice with the puck and goes around leafs D Morgan Rielly and blast a wickedly hard shot. HUGE rebound save off the shoulder of Hildeby and the rebound goes straight to centre’s Sean Monahan who puts it in the net. It’s now 4-0 Blue Jackets.
GOAL-BLUE JACKETS: #24 Mathieu Olivier. (Time: 11:36)
Blue Jackets are in the Leafs zone and Columbus forward Aston Reese picks up the loose puck after a ensuing puck battle. Then he skates behind the Leafs net and throws it out in front where Oliver is there to tap it home. This is now 5 straight goals for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
GOAL- TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS: #23 Matthews Knies. (Time: 18:59)
The puck goes behind the Columbus goal where Blue Jackets defenceman #78 Damon Severson cant control the puck and is striped of the puck by leafs forward Knies who skates out to the top of the face off circle and does a quick turn around no look shot and puts it past goaltender Tarasov. Finally the Leafs on the board with their first goal of the game.

3rd Period Begins:
GOAL- BLUE JACKETS: #86 Kirill Marchenko. (Time:11:58)
The Blue Jackets break out of their own zone as Monahan grabs a floating puck with his glove while still in his own zone skates hard up the ice with the puck and enters the Leafs zone, turns towards the boards drawing in both Leafs forwards Matthews & Knives. Monahan then does a hard stops turn and passes the puck to open ice area back to Leafs open slot area where there is a wide open trailer teammate Marchenko who picks up the puck, coasts in and wires it from the low slot over the glove of the Leafs goaltender.
GOAL- MAPLE LEAFS: #89 Nicholas Robertson. (Time: 13:03)
Toronto Maples Leafs break out of their own zone with the puck and Tavares receives a pass from Beniot just before centre ice and skates right up the middle of the ice entering the columbus defensive zone and then taking on and deking through 3 blue jacket players before firing off a shot that is saved by the glove of Tarasov but it pops out of his glove bounces out onto the ice, where leafs Robertson is there to pick up the loose puck in front of the net and backhands in it for the Leafs 2nd goal of the game.

Game Recap- COLUMBUS, Ohio— Mathieu Olivier scored twice and Justin Danforth had a goal and two assists. Sean Monahan added a goal and assist. James Van Riemsdyk and Kirill Marchenko each had a goal, while Zach Werenski had two assist. Daniil Tarasov stopped 25 shots for Columbus for the win.
Matthew Knies and Nicholas Robertson scored for Toronto, Dennis Hildeby stopped 32 saves.
Takeaways: Toronto Maple Leafs are playing back to back games and arrived in Columbus in the morning of game day for their game later that night.
Key Moments: The Leafs never found there offence from the start of the game and came out flat. Joseph Woll still not ready to return and start the game.
